Job Summary:

This opportunity will offer the employee the ability to work closely with the founding team, as well as to form close partnerships with team members during the development and formation of the company.

We are looking for a Co-op, Nanoparticle Process Development to join the Technical Operations team at Strand Therapeutics. The incoming co-op will work with the Technical Operations teams by supporting in production and scale up of LNPs with nucleic acid payload. The candidate will be expected to work in an innovative, fast-paced, and collaborative biotech environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execute experiments related to LNP mixing and downstream purification/filtration to improve the process.
  • Contribute to development of a robust formulation process with emphasis on scale-up, tech-transfer and stability.
  • Contribute to thorough characterization of LNPs by existing methods and collaborating with internal stakeholders on developing new methods.
  • Working across diverse areas to support the group's development activities in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

  • On track to graduate with a B.S. or M.S. in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Molecular Medicine, Genetics or related field. Experience in the biotechnology space is a plus.
  • LNP working experience is strongly preferred, but not a requirement.
  • Basic knowledge of downstream nucleic acid process development is desirable.
  • Familiarity with TFF, QbD principles, scale up and JMP DOE would be a plus.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures, make careful observations, maintain clear and complete records of lab work.‪
  • Strong collaboration and inter-personal skills. Ability to present scientific context, experimental set up, data interpretation, and big-picture conclusions to a diverse audience.
