The Role: 

We are searching for a seasoned Director of Engineering to lead and grow our engineering teams in multiple Latam countries. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for developing and executing our technological vision, fostering a collaborative culture of excellence, and driving the successful delivery of high-quality products.

  • Main responsibilities:


    1. Provide strategic leadership and direction for the engineering teams in multiple Latam countries, ensuring alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives for the region.
    2. Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation and concept development tailored to multiple markets, to launch and ongoing maintenance.
    3. Develop and implement a robust technical roadmap that leverages cutting-edge technologies to create market-leading products.
    4. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering teams across multiple locations.
    5. Recruit, hire, and mentor top engineering talent with a strong understanding of the Latam tech landscapes.
    6. Manage the engineering budget effectively and ensure efficient resource allocation across both teams.
    7. Bridge communication between engineering teams in different countries, fostering a cohesive and collaborative environment.
    8. Partner with cross-functional teams (product, marketing, sales, business owners) to ensure seamless product development and launch specifically for multiple markets.
    9. Stay abreast of the latest technological trends and developments.

What we are looking for:

  1. 10+ years of experience in a senior engineering leadership role, with at least 5 years in a LatAm-based startup environment.
  2. Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced, resource-constrained, and culturally diverse environment.
  3. Demonstrated capability to coach and develop engineering managers.
  4. Deep understanding of software development principles and methodologies within the context of the LatAm tech ecosystem, with experience in agile development and rapid iteration.
  5. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate diverse cultural contexts.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  7. Ability to think strategically and translate business goals into technical solutions with a LatAm-specific perspective and financial awareness.
  8. Experience in building and maintaining a strong technical culture..
  9. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
