The Role

Collaboration and continual learning are core values for our engineering team. We celebrate wins together and we support each other to solve tough problems. Our modern tech stack is flexible so engineers’ good ideas can be realized.

We use AWS extensively for many services. We take a serverless approach to development when possible  and highly leverage containerized services like ECS, EKS and Lambda. We use RDS, DynamoDB and Redshift for our primary storage needs. We are using new technologies in our QA automation framework and the main programing language in our QA team is Python. QA and testing is increasingly automated and incorporated with CICD

QA Automation Engineers enable the Stori Tech Team to build the right thing and build the thing right. They improve quality by supporting the software lifecycle from planning to delivery. These engineers are core members of the Tech Team that apply their experience and knowledge of the product to create test plans and detailed test cases. QA Engineers work closely with product designers, product leads and software engineers to debug and improve quality and the user experience.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including code reviews, testing, and build & deployment processes
  • Experience with automation tools such as Appium and Selenium for testing mobile applications or web applications
  • Hands-on experience with Test Plan Creation, Test Matrix Creation and RTM creation.
  • Track record of driving testability and diagnostic ability into the mobile application software and into backend data processes
  • Practical experience with API Testing with a tool like Postman.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field
  • Self-organized and self-motivated. Resilient in the face of obstacles
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with cross-functional teams in multiple locations.
  • Ownership of the team’s goals and work. Committed to get the work done.
  • Mindset to identify opportunities for innovation. And the initiative to experiment with new tools and processes
  • Three or more years in a similar position
  • Comfortable writing & speaking. Level B2 or higher

Strong Preference

  • Experience testing backend data processing software that does not have a visual component
  • ISTQB Certification
  • Python programming skills and SQL scripting skills
  • Knowledge of best practices to integrate testing in CICD
  • Practical experience with bug tracking in a tool like Jira, Zentao, or Basecamp
  • Ability to breakdown large projects into an ordered set of deliverables
  • Solid understanding of AGILE methodologies and practices.
  • Superior analytical skills, including a strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems
