About the Role:

The Regional General Manager will initiate a stealth project for geographic growth of a new retail format, creating the blueprint for expansion and suburban market operations. You will not only establish and grow your own business in Bentonville, but also spearhead future market expansion. You will be an entrepreneur within the new company’s framework - driving innovation, establishing an aspirational brand, and delivering a magical service to customers across the US.

What you’ll do:

  • Build plan to launch in new markets, using Bentonville as first test
    • Detail value proposition for market-specific customer base with logistical considerations in mind
    • Detail full financial and operational plan
    • Work closely with headquarters to create regional structure and processes
    • Steward vision & mission beyond headquarters
  • Hire and develop team
    • Identify top talent and recruit to team; champion culture values in regional offices
    • Train and develop associates to maximize their potential
    • Inspire and motivate regional teams to achieve audacious goals
  • Operationalize in new markets
    • Go from zero to 60: launch service by spring 2019
    • Establish standard operating practices and continuously improve them through testing and learning
    • Set and work within a budget but know when to escalate needs for additional investment
  • Establish aspirational brand and premium service
    • Create awareness and demand for company
    • Acquire and engage target customers
    • Know what great looks like and achieve it: steward the company’s brand and customer experience standards beyond headquarters
  • Communicate frequently with multiple stakeholders
    • Maintain constant communication and best-practice sharing with headquarters
    • Provide/present business updates as needed - to board of directors, headquarters, other market leads, etc.

What you should have:

  • 7-10 years of operational experience
  • 5-7 years of leadership experience
  • Past experience in a start-up or similar professional environment
  • Past experience in most or all of the following functions: customer service, marketing, operations (fulfillment & delivery), merchandising and strategy
  • Experience working with product and/or engineering teams
  • Experience working with remote teams or management
  • BA/BS degree required
  • Flexible schedule including weekend, evening and holiday coverage
  • Able to travel domestically as needed (particularly at start)
