You will establish the foundations for brand and retail partnerships and grow this area of the business. You will build mutually beneficial partnerships with companies that benefit our member by bringing her the best products in a timely fashion. You will be an essential member of both the merchandising and logistics teams, working closely with both to improve inventory visibility, accuracy and margin.

What you will do:

  • Work with Merchandising to identify and approach potential strategic retail partners for access to their catalog/inventory feeds for our curated recommendations and last mile sourcing
  • Structure and execute affiliate partnerships to achieve a scalable and sustainable process that accommodates member requests with consistent, quality products and service
  • Develop and maintain partnership pitch materials, proposals and agreements
  • Manage our partner pipeline and day to day relationships and regularly communicate progress to cross functional teams
  • Work with Product to identify and prioritize on technical investments to onboard new partners and execute on the vision
  • Proactively identify any opportunities for enhancing partnerships and the internal teams’ experience of using partner data
  • Support manual processes (until automation is implemented), e.g., downloading,  uploading inventory levels; placing partner orders; providing partner sales reporting
  • Ensure metrics are established for all meaningful partnership elements
  • Regularly provide a detailed review of and reporting on (to both internal and external stakeholders) partner catalog/inventory feed performance, including any trends that can be leveraged and addressed
  • Nurture the partner relationship to secure insights into assortment changes; understand what products are new, trending
  • For key partners: identify, plan and execute tangential partnership opportunities, e.g., joint marketing campaigns aligned with internal business goals and partners’ strategic plans

What you should have:

  • 4 years experience in an external facing business development or partnerships role and ideally 1-2 years experience in Merchandising and/or working with Merchants/Buyers
  • Passion about going above and beyond to deliver an exceptional partner experience
  • Excellent relationship building, cross-functional influence and project management skills with both external and internal stakeholders
  • Desire to take a leadership role in driving initiatives and approaching new opportunities
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills
  • Ability to set appropriate expectations with partners and resolve conflicts
  • Comfort working in a data-driven environment and a strong proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and with a strong sense of urgency
  • An entrepreneurial mindset that is persistent, creative, and collaborative
  • A positive, upbeat and assertive personality
  • Stellar written and verbal communication/ presentation skills including pitch deck and proposal writing
