Office Manager, Spatialand

“VR” is an industry buzzword right now. And the majority of the technology that has been created in this space has been focused on the development of hardware and content for spaces such as gaming and entertainment, ignoring the range of possibilities available in retail. At our core, we are merchandisers and storytellers which drives us to believe that virtual reality has the potential to reinvent the consumer experience—with an experience we call contextual commerce.

We’re looking for a creative, savvy and outgoing Office Manager to work with our leadership team and assist with our day-to-day operations. We are a rapidly growing company with a hardworking and fun culture.

This is the opportunity to get in from the first day at a stealth company currently being incubated in Los Angeles by Walmart’s tech incubator, Store No 8.  Spatialand was acquired by Store N° 8, Walmart’s incubation arm for developing capabilities that will transform the future of commerce. At Store N° 8, the Spatialand team will develop and explore new products and uses of VR through immersive retail environments that can be incorporated by all facets of Walmart, online and offline. Our new venture is currently operating in stealth mode as we work out of our beautiful Venice, CA office.


  • Coordinating new hire set-up, including office space, IT equipment, and supplies 
  • Handling HR-related office and people management projects, including coordinating interview schedules with recruiting and communicating with potential candidates
  • Maintaining the appearance of the reception area, conference rooms and kitchen, including stocking items daily 
  • Monitor the facility to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well maintained and coordinate maintenance as required
  • Keep office snacks, supplies, and beverages well-stocked
  • Office support including but not limited to answering phones, signing for deliveries, greeting and signing in visitors
  • Address employee questions regarding office management and HR issues, policies and procedures
  • Prepare documentation and reports as requested
  • Coordinate production meetings, both internally and externally. Organize and distribute related agendas and reports Plan internal and external fun office events to promote office culture
  • Support with ad-hoc asks in other areas of companies you are interested in

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of prior administrative experience
  • Relevant work experience in a startup, media and/or technology company preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills & the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Ability to demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with production logistics including budgets, scheduling, invoicing, and travel
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and work quickly with spreadsheets and documents
  • Comfortable communicating with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Acrobat, and Outlook are required Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and G suite
  • Extreme attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced environment and grow with us
