About Us and The Hard Problems We Are Solving

At Stellate, we’re working to unlock the world’s data by building the global data graph. By making the global data graph a reality, we unlock the compounding effects of innovation by removing the inefficiencies of connecting poorly structured and documented APIs.

Our immediate focus is on making open GraphQL APIs ubiquitous. We’ll start by building a set of solutions that enable engineering teams to build fast, high-quality, open GraphQL APIs at scale. This will result in an explosion of open GraphQL APIs, broadening the global data graph. Inevitably, the global data graph will be the center of the digital economy.

Role Responsibilities

We wouldn’t be where we are without the broader GraphQL community and we want to do our part in providing value back to the community! We believe that curating a collaborative and supportive environment of developers is a way for everyone in the community to learn and share best practices. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work directly with our co-founder and CEO, Max Stoiber, as you flex your creativity muscle and actively collaborate on all initiatives. We are looking for someone comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with a curiosity and passion for learning and digging into new technologies. Here are some of the other things you would be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing an active GraphQL community by building solid connections with developers. Focusing first and foremost on meaningful GraphQL content and occasionally on Stellate-specific topics. Reactiflux is an example of a community we admire!
    • Driving engagement and belonging in GraphQL communities with frequent moments of connections (daily discussion topics, fireside chats, etc.) between developers through varying platforms (ex: Discord, Stack Overflow, and Twitter).
    • Collaborate on the GraphQL Radio podcast by sourcing interesting guests to be interviewed by our CEO and co-founder, Max Stoiber.
  • Addressing questions and collecting feedback from community members, ensuring all insights are shared back into Stellate.
  • Experience using GraphQL and shipping production code is a must.
    • You understand and know how to relate to software developers because you are one yourself.
    • You value data efficiency, integrity, and ease of maintenance.
    • You are passionate about the continuous learning of new technologies.
  • Producing excellent written communication as well as creating straightforward video content.
    • Identifying and curating a unique voice of humor and directness that aligns with our broader company voice that builds trust and connection. An example of a company voice we love is fly.io
    • We aren’t hiring for high production value, so don’t exclude yourself from applying due to a lack of design and video production skills!
    • English as a first language is not required, but it is crucial that you can communicate clearly at an advanced level.
  • Defining strategy and creating processes through continuous iterations and experiments. It’s essential to understand that repeatable processes and structures will allow us to scale.
    • Creating and tracking relevant success metrics to share back with the team.
