STEEZY’s mission is to make dance the next big sporting and fitness category, starting with online dance classes. We are a dance technology company that provides curated classes & programs for dance fans who are looking for an easy-to-enjoy dance experience. We use data and insights to enable a delightful learning experience, which is important so our audience can feel the joy of dance faster.

The Challenge:

We’re looking for a VP of Finance to join our General & Administrative (G&A) department. This role will report into our CEO, and will lead our finance and accounting function. You will oversee all aspects of STEEZY’s financial health - providing executive level direction and strategic oversight for financial planning, budgeting, and budget analysis, accounting and business operations, and risk management.

Things you will accomplish here:

  • Own the strategic planning and forecast processes and lead strategic cash preservation and potential fundraising initiatives
  • Provide accurate and efficient reporting of financial results and variance analysis with a high sense of urgency in preparation for board meetings or investor relations
  • Drive systems, processes and controls to enable broader financial subject area expertise throughout the organization
  • Manage overall day-to-day financial planning across the company, including revenue and cogs recognition timing, payroll, operating and non-operating expense, and capital investments
  • Review and certify monthly, consolidated financial statements for month end closes, present monthly forecasts and operational overview to executives
  • Partner with the Controller and additional accounting resources to create transparent and relevant financial reporting that the management team considers clear, concise and actionable.
  • Partner with the executives and the People Team on headcount planning, merit increases, and additional discretionary bonuses, reconciling relevant accruals and quarterly payout schedules.
  • Build, design, and architect a planning solution and potential visualization tools necessary for financial forecasting

What success in this role looks like to us:

  • You are comfortable making strategic financial decisions - you ideally have in-depth experience with financial analysis (or equivalent) and have had supervisory experience
  • You are an exceptional analytical thinker - adept at data modeling, with an aptitude for applying modeling skills to solve for operational needs
  • You are an excellent communicator, able to succinctly convey ideas and communication in written and verbal form, and are comfortable managing not only your direct reports’ performance but expectations across multiple departments
  • You operate in a high growth, agile and entrepreneurial startup environment with ease, and are able to take ownership of fast-paced projects with shifting priorities
  • You can perform and work autonomously and with great detail orientation
  • You are able to ask the right questions, not just giving the “right answers”

What joining STEEZY looks like:

You will join a team of curious and passionate folks interested in making online dance learning fun and easy. We value transparency, collaboration, and results (with some dance breaks along the way!), and expect the team to align with and uphold our STEEZY values - there are 7 of them, which you will come to learn throughout the recruiting process!

STEEZY is invested in being an equal opportunity workplace that is dedicated to hiring diverse talent. We encourage people from underrepresented groups to apply to our open roles.
