STEEZY’s mission is to make dance the next big sporting and fitness category, starting with online dance classes. The Challenge:

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack) to join the Product team and help scale our web platform and infrastructure using modern JavaScript. This role will report into our Engineering Manager.

Things you will accomplish here:

  • Develop features for our responsive web app that include user progress tracking, video player interactions, and social media integrations
  • Sustain a robust platform infrastructure able to consume webhooks, run cloud functions and handle fluctuating server usage
  • Collaborate with Engineering team to architect code execution, design data schemas, and strategize around potential edge cases
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Designers to clarify product requirements and deliverable expectations
  • Work in a fast-paced Agile environment and participate in rituals like stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint planning meetings
  • Participate in code reviews and feedback sessions to maximize growth opportunities

What success in this role looks like to us: 

  • You have 4+ years building and delivering JavaScript web applications
  • You have 3+ years designing APIs or developing complex business logic using Node and Express
  • You have a strong foundation with JavaScript fundamentals, as well as following best practices in reusable component structure, data manipulation, defensive programming, etc.
  • Being comfortable with client-side intricacies and responsive web implementations using React, HTML, and CSS
  • You excel at modeling and implementing NoSQL and SQL data structures (experience with Firebase and Postgres is a plus)
  • Implementing containerization and orchestration technologies (experience with Docker or Kubernetes is a plus)
  • Leveraging open source tools to efficiently work through shipment of product features
  • Working in Agile development teams, collaborating with product managers, designers, analysts, and other engineers

  • Experience with setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience successfully implementing AWS services like S3, Lambda and MediaConvert
  • Excellent at following Git and version control practices
  • Deep understanding of video streaming technologies
  • Familiarity with TDD and different ways of testing (unit, integration and functional)
  • Experience maintaining systems for monitoring and logging
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code and best practices
  • Experience with GraphQL or other query languages
