About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Director, SEO Product with a specialization in technical SEO to spearhead the rebuild and optimization of our automotive repair shop directory. Reporting into the Head of Product, the ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SEO principles and strategies, with a proven track record of driving organic traffic and improving search engine rankings. You will be responsible for defining the vision, strategy, roadmap for the directory, working closely with engineering to choose the right technologies and approach to ensure successful execution and continuous improvement. 

 

You are technically curious, easily grasp marketing and technical concepts, and are highly interested in the SEO landscape. You’re obsessed with providing excellent customer service; have a knack for process and are pragmatic in the way you approach your work; have strong technical aptitude; and you’re a proactive communicator.


 

You Will

  • Develop and communicate a clear product strategy that aligns with the squad’s goals and objectives.
  • Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and user needs. 
  • From scratch, build a product roadmap that outlines the product's development journey and milestones from conception to launch.
  • Develop a squad from the ground up, making a recommendation to build in house or partner with a firm. 
  • Be an expert on what technologies work best for SEO. Drive decisions on site architecture and the impact that has on driving organic traffic. Be able to collaborate with engineering on how things are built to drive short and long term growth. 
  • Lead and encourage cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, marketers, sales, and customer success to build and launch high-quality solutions.
  • Regularly analyze search trends, identify insights, and work cross functionality to make product or content improvements to improve organic search performance.
  • Design, execute, and evaluate A/B tests, multivariate tests, and other experiments to optimize user acquisition channels, new shop sign-up processes, and book appointment conversion rates.
  • Talk with customers on an ongoing basis to maintain a deep understanding of their needs and preferences.
  • Drive a tailored and business value-aligned technology evaluation process, driving real growth and CX improvements. 
  • Collaborate closely with prospects, channel partners, our sales  and customer success teams to deliver solutions and channel feedback to inform and improve the product.
  • Champion creative solutions to build a process and partnership that is grounded in customer empathy, and product best practices in a high-paced start-up environment.

 

You Have


Must Have:

  • Undergraduate degree (Computer Science, Business, Economics, Marketing, or similar) or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of product management experience with a Commerce or directory product, delivering end-to-end products from ideation to launch and driving the SEO and traffic growth strategy.
  • Demonstrated expertise in SEO principles, techniques, and tools, with a proven track record of driving organic traffic and improving search engine rankings. Must be a technical SEO master. 
  • Expert in SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, etc).
  • Consistent track record of delivering products with global, cross-functional teams - engineering, design, CS, sales, marketing, and partnerships.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills to communicate sophisticated topics to diverse set of both technical and business collaborators.
  • Analytical skills to make data-driven decisions (e.g. analyze product usage).
  • Obsessed with detail, have good logical, sound analytical and numerical capabilities.
  • High flexibility and the ability to modify approach as per changing stakeholders, conditions, circumstances and feedback. 
  • Driven self-starter.
  • You think from a user’s point of view and want to get better at it all the time.

 

Nice to Have:

  • SaaS experience. 
  • Intermediate knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience working with small business owners.
  • Automotive experience. 
  • Tableau, PowerBI, or similar.
