Who we’re looking for:

Our Demand Planning Analyst will create and maintain demand planning and inventory stocking models for US Field Operation. You will incorporate business intelligence and forecast information which is gathered from historical consumption data, subscriber acquisition, and forward-looking forecasts. You will also be responsible for integrating our demand forecast into the Supply Plan to ensure optimal inventories are maintained to support premium customer service levels.


What you’ll do:

  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
  • Maintain and update statistical models and data in our Demand Forecasting System
  • Validate history and model assumptions used in developing BOMs and future forecasts 
  • Maintain and update our data in the Demand to Supply Planning System
  • Manage forecast generation and ensure Starry systems are updated with the current demand forecast
  • Develop a demand forecast plan and manage exceptions
  • Work closely with Supply Chain team to develop resolutions to variances in forecast vs. actual vs. operating plans 
  • Ensure premium customer service while maintaining and supporting Starry’s target inventory goals
  • Have a detailed understanding of forecasting modeling to translate our topline forecast into an item/warehouse demand plan detail via BOM
  • Maintain demand plan accuracy at an item/warehouse level; assess for bias tendencies; identify areas of opportunity and determine root causes for forecast errors to institute corrective actions
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus based approach by working with Starry Markets, Business Operations and Engineering to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for our demand forecasts
  • Provide input in the Supply Planning process to develop inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
  • Manage day to day maintenance around the Demand/Supply module within NetSuite
  • Develop scenarios and what-if analyses in conjunction with other functions
  • Ad hoc reporting to drive operational efficiencies
  • Other duties as assigned


Points for:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, preferably in Supply Chain Management or Logistics discipline
  • 3+ years of demand planning, inventory management or production planning experience 
  • Knowledge of NetSuite Demand Planning or other ERP software and demand planning module
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of financial and operational impacts 
  • Experience with Statistical forecasting techniques
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel Skills are required with demonstrated experience with v-lookups and pivot tables
  • APICS CPIM or Certified Professional Forecaster Certification a plus
  • Analytical and technical skills with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels and within team environments
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position such as bustling about, standing, bending, or sitting for the duration of your shift
