Endurance Sports group. The GM of Stack Endurance will be responsible for general business performance, strategy, and ultimately for the success of our Endurance business, which is focused on providing software and timing services directly to race directors, regatta directors, rowing clubs and athletes. Stack Endurance also owns and operates 15 running events.  This leader will own the P&L for this line of business and be responsible for end-to-end financial performance for one of the six lines of business at Stack Sports. This individual will report directly to Jeff Brunsberg, Chief Revenue and Strategy Officer.

 

As a leader of this critical, growth business, the GM of the Stack Endurance will have direct responsibility for the innovation and evolution of Stack Sports’ software solutions and services, as well as oversight of the deployment and ongoing support of the products in this portfolio. This leader will be active in assessing potential M&A targets and if successful with acquisition, integrating technologies and teams into the line of business. This individual will also collaborate closely with the leaders of the five other business units within Stack Sports to identify and execute on targeted product integrations that enhance value for athletes, coaches, teams and associations. Experience, determination and enthusiasm for taking a portfolio of products and innovating to create an integrated, market-leading platform is a must. The candidate will define a product vision that is innovative, ambitious and compelling, and be a passionate evangelizer of this vision.

 

The broader Stack Sports Software portfolio includes SaaS solutions for youth league management, athlete recruiting and development, referee assignment, event management, athlete statistics and real-time scoring applications, team applications, camps, scouting and video analysis, travel, fundraising and payment solutions. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, highly acquisitive environment and can architect and scale integrated solutions to take to market.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • This leader will be responsible for the financial performance (P&L) of Stack Endurance  business
  • This individual will be responsible for defining vision, driving team execution, as well as defining and executing an aggressive organic growth strategy. This will require strong leadership capabilities, as well as the ability to roll-up-your-sleeves to ensure alignment across sales, technology, support and other business stakeholders.
  • This leader will collaborate closely with the Chief Revenue and Strategy Officer and all members of the executive team to develop and executive against business plans, product strategies, and product road maps
  • Performing market research, market validation and whitespace analysis to identify new opportunities for existing and new products
  • Fostering close relationships with all key market constituents (customers, non-customers, analyst and competitors) to validate Stack Sports’ general business strategy
  • Develop and own the business case for proposed products and initiatives, including cost/benefit estimates, market trends, competitive analysis, risk analysis, industry best practices and product development timelines
  • Driving sales and marketing performance to ensure go-to-market strategies, plans and activities are aligned with the company’s business drivers
  • Defining goals and success metrics for the Stack Endurance line of business
  • Lead and assist with the recruitment and mentoring of highly motivated team members within business
  • Provide subject matter leadership, including internal and external engagement and thought leadership
  • Coordinate Finance & Legal projects with appropriate departmental leads, including budget forecasting and contractual reviews
  • Traveling to regional offices in the Endurance division to build culture and team across a geographically dispersed business unit

Education/Experience:

 

  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in building, launching and managing products in the Endurance or SaaS industry
  • Experience and proven success in the endurance sports space
  • Proven people leader and team player with strong interpersonal and communication skill
  • Experience managing product and/or line of business P&L’s, with consistently at or above plan performance
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead projects independently from start to finish, working with internal and external teams to make decisions and maintain forward momentum
  • Successful track record of building and managing high-performing teams across multiple disciplines, with a focus on sales growth and performance
  • Strong analytical ability to assess complex situations and provide creative solutions
  • Metrics driven operator, with strong accountability for product and business performance
