The Staff Accountant role is a hybrid position that is primarily work-from-home with the need for work in Stack Sports' headquarters in Plano, Texas a few days each week.  The role requires general account knowledge and an understanding of Accounts Payable.  Experience with NetSuite is preferred.  This role offers the right candidate an opportunity to oversee Accounts Payable and engage on many other accounting areas. 

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day Accounts Payable functions. This includes managing the A/P workflow system and the A/P module of NetSuite, including monitoring and enabling the flow of vendor invoices through all steps of the processes.  This role will also be responsible for leading the Company’s annual 1099 process every January.  Further, this role will be the functional lead for several critical optimization initiatives, driving efficiencies across the Company.

Finally, this role will have some responsibilities in general accounting for the Company, often involving research and reconciliation of account activity.  The individual must be extremely diligent and organized.  We are looking for a motivated self-starter that can work independently with little oversight.  The ideal candidate will have great excel skills, excellent judgment, and won’t be intimidated by the demands of a fast-paced startup in a rapid-growth phase.    

  

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Oversee all aspects of Accounts Payable for the Company, including the process flows for vendor invoices and payments.
  • Ensure the appropriate functioning of the workflow system, the A/P module of NetSuite and other systems utilized in Accounts Payable and Expense Report processing.
  • Investigate and reconcile discrepancies in a timely and effective manner, communicating well with all team members.
  • Prepare account reconciliations, identifying any transactions that need to be posted by the accounting team.
  • Be the project business lead on all optimization initiatives within the Accounts Payable function
  • Monitor all corporate cards and help optimize the implementation, tracking and account coding for all corporate credit card expenses across the organization
  • Engage in recurring and ad-hoc assignments, investigating accounting and process issues while gathering the appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Help develop sound internal controls

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years in Accounts Payable, Corporate Accounting or related responsibilities preferred

  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable and 1099 processes
  • High-level computer literacy with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus
