Events Team Sales Manager

 

Stack Sports is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to run our CaptainU Events Team and contribute to our explosive growth as the leader in sports recruiting software. 

 

As the Events Team Sales Manager with CaptainU, you will manage a cross-functional internal team of Account Executives, Account Managers and work closely with Sales Operations and Marketing to ensure that our event partnerships perform to forecasted Key Performance Indicators. 

 

You will also be responsible for managing your own book of event partnerships and developing strong long-term relationships with your clients. Partnerships include private Event Operators and National Governing Body organizations. This role reports directly to VP of Sales of CaptainU and will require preparing and speaking to weekly channel review reports, as well as be the point of contact for the CaptainU Events Channel performance with the Stack Sports Executive team.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with external partners and industry influencers to drive sales growth and continually develop new business 
  • Drive the success of the Events Team through established KPIs 
  • Manage and motivate the team to hit and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual targets
  • Develop and implement tactical plans to achieve KPIs
  • Manage AE and AM to performance and sales quotas
  • Manage annual partnership budget
  • Create financial ROI models in Excel  
  • Build and present business cases and go-to-market strategies for partnerships
  • Identify and grow opportunities within a territory 
  • Initiate and launch strategy to deliver new event partnerships 
  • Deliver web-based presentations and product demos using inside sales best practices
  • Negotiate and execute profitable multi-year partnership agreements
  • Develop trust-based partnership relationships with key clients
  • Develop new business with existing clients 
  • Forecast and track key partnership metrics 
  • Prepare and deliver reports for clients on account performance and indicate areas of optimization
  • Represent CaptainU in-person at conferences and events 
  • Moderate U.S-based travel, approximately 4-5 days/nights per month

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Preferably in Business, Economics or Communications Masters Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of proven success in a leadership position
  • 2-5 years in account or team management in technology, software, or sports organizations
  • Sports technology background a plus, sports background preferred but not required
  • Demonstrable ability to present at all levels of the organization up to C-level
  • Proven closer with a track record of exceeding quotas and KPIs
  • Experience leading and presenting online web/mobile software demos
  • Technical skills including Excel, PPT, Salesforce, G-Suite
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions 
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong work ethic and track record of success
