We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Cloud Operations to lead our cloud infrastructure and operations team. This role requires a strategic leader who can support our development and security team with their infrastructure needs, optimize our cloud environment for cost-efficiency, incorporate security best practices while ensuring optimal performance and scalability, and help nurture and grow the DevOps team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps, FinOps, MLOps, and SRE with extensive experience managing services in AWS.

What You Will Do:

Strategic Leadership: Spearhead the strategic and operational facets of Cloud operations, overseeing implementation, standardization, optimization, and comprehensive management of Cloud infrastructure services.

Team Leadership: Lead the DevOps team, nurturing a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation to drive operational excellence.

Collaboration and Prioritization: Collaborate closely with the Leadership team to provide visibility into DevOps activities and aid in prioritizing requests effectively.

Best Practices Development: Develop and execute best practices for managing AWS infrastructure, emphasizing automation, orchestration, and robust monitoring of cloud resources.

Financial Optimization: Ensure optimal cloud spending through proficient FinOps strategies, aiming to maximize return on investment while minimizing waste.

DevOps Integration: Collaborate with Development teams to facilitate seamless continuous integration and delivery processes.

AI/ML Operationalization: Support initiatives for operationalizing AI/ML projects, facilitating deployment and scaling of models in production environments.

Security and Compliance: Liaise with Security Operations and GRC teams to ensure compliance with pertinent laws and regulations, safeguarding data and systems against threats.

Budget Management: Prepare and oversee the cloud operations budget, providing comprehensive reporting on performance metrics and forecasting growth.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 4+ years of experience managing Cloud Operations teams (DevOps, FinOps, MLOps), coupled with 8+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps roles.
  • AWS Expertise: Extensive proficiency in AWS, encompassing best practices and intricate areas such as networking, IAM management, security, and data governance.
  • DevOps Proficiency: Strong grounding in DevOps methodologies, tools, and processes, with a track record of successful implementation.
  • Financial and AI/ML Experience: Experience in implementing FinOps and MLOps strategies within a scaling organization.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code: Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) to automate and manage cloud infrastructure.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language, particularly Python.
  • Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrable history of leading high-performing teams.
  • Strategic Vision: Strategic thinking ability with a knack for driving innovation and efficiency in cloud operations.
