Content editors are responsible for researching, proofreading, and publishing both traditional and online media. They analyze readership data and develop content strategies to increase user engagement. Content editors also fact-check articles and ensure the use of proper spelling, grammar, and syntax in outputs.
In the content editor role, you will be in charge of reviewing articles, blogs, webpages, e-books, and other copy produced by content writers. You will ensure the content meets the company’s brand character and quality benchmarks. Success in this position will be demonstrated by producing content that increases engagement with the company’s products and contributes to the company’s growth as per set KPIs.
What You’ll Do:
- Proofread and edit the work of content writers
- Allocate tasks to writers and ensure timely completion
- Fact check and verify information and research
- Contribute new ideas for future publications and maintain the team’s content calendar
- Coach writers in copywriting best practices and brand voice
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders from design, development, product, and success teams as required
Who You Are & What Makes You Qualified:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an editor or similar position
- Hands-on experience with MS Office, Google Docs, and publishing tools
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledgeable about various social media platforms and SEO
- Team player
- Highly organized
