Together we’ll discover connection and innovation you’ve never experienced before and an amazing world you’ll never leave behind”.

We are Spliced Inc. and we’re looking for a Principal VFX Artist.

The Role

One of the amazing things about this opportunity is the chance to get in at a relatively early stage on a new AAA title. As there is a lot of scope for the game, world and team to grow further, you can use your unique skill set and abilities to have a meaningful influence on the evolving look and feel of the game.

You will play a critical role within the VFX team, charged with using tools such as Niagara and Embergen to build VFX that will draw players into our world, and convey gameplay elements that help redefine what a game is and how players interact with it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Art and VFX teams to create VFX that shows the game world at its best.
  • Collaborate with the Design team to create VFX that attract and immerse the player, while clearly conveying mechanical, story and other information.
  • Collaborate with Rendering and Tools teams to create highly performant VFX and efficient VFX workflows.
  • Communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with other members of the art team using Miro, Slack, Jira and video calls.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that any bugs or issues that require addressing are communicated effectively.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A portfolio of work you’re proud of!
  • Passionate about creating games and delivering the highest quality VFX.
  • Experience with Houdini/Embergen or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: the abilities to communicate positively and effectively.
  • Proficiency in shader creation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Shipped AAA game experience.
  • Knowledge of current AAA generation games and VFX.
  • Experience using Unreal Engine and advanced knowledge of Niagara.
  • Experience with programming/Blueprints.
  • Familiarity with other disciplines (Animation, Modelling, Lighting etc).
