We are Spliced Inc. and we’re looking for an Associate AI Engineer.

The Role
You will be part of an innovative new project, blending together multiple genres of games, past
and present, in an ever changing online experience. This is a unique opportunity to work on a
variety of game modes - some large, some small, but all designed to capture the imagination of
our players. You will play a critical role in driving and creating core game AI, building gameplay
that will help redefine what a game is and how players interact with NPCs.
This role will see you collaborating with designers, animators and artists to bring the game to life
and create compelling experiences, while advocating for exciting AI behaviors that challenge the
player and bring the world to life. This role hinges on your abilities to quantify gameplay feel,
have a basic grasp on game design fundamentals, and communicate opportunities for
improvement to the team.
Key Responsibilities
● Design, develop, and support features in Unreal Engine using C++ by writing high quality
and stable code
● Proactively identify and solve problems in the code that affect performance, stability, and
maintainability
● Work with content creation teams to build features and solve problems
● Communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with other members of the engineering team
using Slack, code reviews, design reviews, and video calls

Basic Qualifications:
● Computer Science or equivalent degree
● Experience/Keen Interest in AI for games
● Strong understanding of the the C++ language
● Passionate about creating games and delivering the highest quality gameplay for players
● Strong interpersonal skills: the abilities to communicate positively and effectively.
● Proactively seeks and acts on feedback from peers.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
● 1+ years of experience working with Unreal Engine 4+
● Experience working on large scale teams of 100 or more
● Experience shipping a AAA game title
