A Day in the Life

You will help change the landscape of the rocket launch industry and be an integral and unique part of a close-knit team of individuals operating in a high energy environment. As a Director of Business Operations, you will be primarily responsible for organizing and oversee the daily operations of our company and ensure that our business is well coordinated and productive by managing its procedures, processes and coaching its people. The responsibilities for this role are wide and will require thorough knowledge of all processes.

 

Your Mission

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company that enable organizational efficiency and efficacy.
  • Establish an operating rhythm of the business to ensure the organization is running effectively and efficiently to meet goals and objectives.
  • Create and update company policies, procedures and workflows as they become necessary to sustain growth.
  • Provide leadership across all administrative sectors to include HR, Operations, Finance, Facilities, Legal and IT.
  • Facilitate communication within the organization and across departments.
  • Responsible for managing personnel and asset growths, budgeting, negotiating, setting long-term operational strategies, and prioritizing, and defining goals.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and source funding opportunities.  
  • Define and execute strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and utilize frameworks to help structure the team’s thinking, drive visibility, and facilitate alignment.
  • Lead day to day operations and deliver on strategy and operational plans from the planning process against the strategic vision for the company
  • Establish an operating rhythm of the business to ensure the organization is running effectively and efficiently to meet goals and objectives.
  • Build the framework for the analysis behind company-wide strategic decisions related to all functions.
  • Run organizational planning and business rhythm process in alignment with all other functions to develop vision, mission, goals, objectives and key results (OKRs), resource and capital plans, etc.
  • Author, manage, and deliver executive level reporting, including weekly, monthly, quarterly status reports to manage risks and issues and improve team communication and collaboration.
  • Lead creation, identification, and insights of metrics to improve business performance and drive business actions and track key KPIs across the teams.
  • Lead coordination and integration of efforts among operations, engineering, technology to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.

You Have

  • Masters (preferred) in Business Management or equivalent
  • 10+ years managing operations, finance, and strategy
  • Superior ethical leadership and diplomacy with excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail with superb analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability managing an organization in a similar role
  • Proficient operational and financial acumen
  • In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g. supply chain, finance, customer service etc.)
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
