A Day in the Life
You will help change the landscape of the rocket launch industry and be an integral and unique part of a close-knit team of individuals operating in a high energy environment. As the Senior Industrial Equipment Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for the major pieces of industrial equipment that comprise the beating heart of our accelerator.
Your Mission
- Manage specification, selection, acquisition, configuration, integration, commissioning, operation and maintenance of SpinLaunch’s largest pieces of industrial equipment
- Work with mechanical and electrical engineers, upper level management, vendors and consultants to conduct studies determining the best path for major equipment acquisition and implementation.
- Generate designs for support systems and integration hardware required for major equipment operations
- Work with build staff and fellow engineers to plan and oversee/participate in installation and commissioning efforts
- Design and conduct testing for receiving inspection and commissioning of installed system
- Develop operations and maintenance procedures and train technicians
You Have
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years of engineering experience in oil & gas or rotating machinery industry
- 1+ years project management experience
- 1+ years of experience integrating industrial equipment
- Expertise in electrical power generation and delivery
- Experience in selection, procurement and commissioning equipment worth >$300k
Strongly Desired
- Experience with vacuum pump technology
- Experience with medium and/or high voltage power equipment
- Experience with MW scale systems
- Experience with CAD software packages such as Solidworks
- Strong grasp of rotational drive systems (Bearings, shafts, belts, gears etc…)
- Familiarity with industrial automation technology
- Experience with solar power and battery storage systems
