You will help change the landscape of the rocket launch industry and be an integral and unique part of a close-knit team of individuals operating in a high energy environment.As a Mechanical Engineer for Satellite Systems, you will be responsible for design and analysis of a variety of critical hardware to bring projects and sub-systems from concept to reality. Your work will expand upon the development of ruggedized launch vehicle and satellite hardware for SpinLaunch’s kinetic launch system. This is a full-time position located at our new Long Beach, CA facility.
Your Mission
Lead the development of high-g capable satellite sub-systems and hardware including:
Bus structures
Reaction Wheels
Propulsion Systems
Avionics Structures
Deployable Systems
Antenna Structures
You Have
5+ years professional design/development experience in the aerospace/ high tech industries
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, NX, etc.)v
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in FEA (ANSYS preferred, NASTRAN, etc.)
Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to rapidly expand application specific knowledge sets and skills where necessary.
Passion for design, build, test and iteration with high level of autonomy and self-reliance.
Strongly Desired
Satellite hardware design experience
Intermediate or expert knowledge in satellite specific design
Experience in electronics ruggedization
