ICT Associate (Solution Designer)

Spektrum are supporting a tier 1 supplier of personnel and services to international Organisations, with more than 2,500 experienced professionals deployed, and active engagements in more than 28 countries spanning 5 continents.

Our support to this client ranges from headhunting, temp and temp to perm personal for both our client and their end clients needs.

Background

The role will be embedded within an International Organisations Global Service Center Base in Valencia serves as a key operational and logistical hub for international missions aimed at maintaining peace and providing humanitarian aid. Located in Spain, this center complements the efforts of its counterpart in Brindisi, working collaboratively to ensure comprehensive support for missions worldwide.

The Valencia base is particularly focused on information and communication technology services. It manages critical IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data management systems that are essential for the coordination and execution of global missions. This includes maintaining reliable and secure communication networks, developing and implementing innovative technological solutions, and providing technical support to field operations.

By handling these complex and crucial aspects of mission support, the Valencia base ensures that international operations can rely on robust and efficient technological frameworks. This enables quick and effective responses to crises, enhances coordination among various stakeholders, and supports the overall objectives of global peacekeeping and humanitarian initiatives. The center's dedication to excellence and continuous improvement makes it an integral part of international efforts to address global challenges.

Role Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for designing and implementing technology solutions to meet the organizational business needs. He/she will engage in all project phases from ideation to implementation and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the solutions and makes recommendations for improvements.

• Work with SMEs and various business stakeholders in identifying and defining business needs and opportunities.
• Create technical specifications, architecture diagrams and design documents for technology solutions that meet the identified requirements.
• Participate in the evaluation of technology products, solutions and vendors and make recommendations for scalable, secure solutions that are aligned with industry standards and best practises.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, to ensure timely delivery of solutions.
• Support the management of project timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Monitor and support the implementation, testing and validation of digital solutions.
• Ensure that the solutions comply with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support the Adoption, Training and Support team to train users on the digital platforms.
• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to analyse and troubleshoot complex production issues.
• Prepare and present design and implementation documentation to stakeholders.
• Prepare project reports and ensure timely submission, in line with project requirements and client procedures and standards. Prepare regular briefings, summaries, press releases and other relevant information materials, as required.
• Keeping up to date with industry trends, tools, and best practices to improve skills and processes continuously.
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned

Essential Skills and Experience

• Strong collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team.
• Strong analytical skills to understand complex requirements and design effective solutions.
• Flexibility, adaptability and desire to learn new languages and technologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Minimum five years of relevant work experience in ICT roles, such as systems analysis, software development, network administration, or IT support.
• Experience in designing, developing, and implementing ICT solutions.
• Experience in managing ICT projects, including planning, executing, and delivering solutions on time and within budget.
• Experience delivering software with SCRUM framework
• Experience with system integration and understanding of enterprise architecture.
• Experience with agile development and strong understanding of DevOps principles.
• Familiarity with configuration management, test-driven development and release management.
• Experience with incident management.

Education

• University degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, economics, statistics or related field with five years of relevant professional experience.
• Diploma/Completed High School degree with seven years of relevant professional experience.

Language Proficiency

• Fluency in English is required (oral and written), and have at least a working knowledge of one additional Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).
• Working knowledge of Spanish or French is an advantage
