ICT Associate (Integration Engineer)

Our support to this client ranges from headhunting, temp and temp to perm personal for both our client and their end clients needs.

Background

The role will be embedded within an International Organisations Global Service Center Base in Valencia serves as a key operational and logistical hub for international missions aimed at maintaining peace and providing humanitarian aid. Located in Spain, this center complements the efforts of its counterpart in Brindisi, working collaboratively to ensure comprehensive support for missions worldwide.

The Valencia base is particularly focused on information and communication technology services. It manages critical IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data management systems that are essential for the coordination and execution of global missions. This includes maintaining reliable and secure communication networks, developing and implementing innovative technological solutions, and providing technical support to field operations.

By handling these complex and crucial aspects of mission support, the Valencia base ensures that international operations can rely on robust and efficient technological frameworks. This enables quick and effective responses to crises, enhances coordination among various stakeholders, and supports the overall objectives of global peacekeeping and humanitarian initiatives. The center's dedication to excellence and continuous improvement makes it an integral part of international efforts to address global challenges.

Role Duties and Responsibilities

You will have responsibility for supporting the development of a strategy and partnering with delivery teams to design, develop and maintain efficient and high-quality integrations connecting data, applications and third parties that support business processes and customer needs. He/She will monitor and analyze existing integrations to improve their performance and efficiency.

The Integration Engineer will be accountable for the integration and delivery of sustainable ICT systems and solutions, to support programme and project delivery.

• Provide recommendations on complex systems analysis, design, integration and implementation and analyze business and customer requirements to identify and prioritize opportunities to improve efficiencies and processes through integration.
• Coordinate the delivery of integrated and sustainable ICT solutions of significant importance or major components of complex systems
• Support the design and implementation of integration flows and enhancements, including APIs and/or file-based integrations. Produce technical reference documentation to be used as guides.
• Partner with development and design teams to support and provide oversight in designing and developing integration solutions and prototypes.
• Coordinate requirements gathering and specification processes, feasibility analysis, architecture and development, management plan and risk mitigation
• Determine, conduct, and automate unit tests, integration tests, load tests, and performance tests, including facilitating set-up of test data and accounts.
• Participate in the development of plans for feasibility assessment, requirements specification, design, development and implementation, including project plans, schedules, time and cost estimates, metrics and performance measures. Prepare and manage technical documentation and self-service resources on integrations.
• Proactively review integration performance and troubleshoot, resolve, and report integration issues to impacted teams and stakeholders.
• Use user and stakeholder feedback to guide the development of new products and integration enhancements. Identify the need for new systems, modifications to existing systems or to respond to requests from clients.
• Participate in integration vendor and tool selection to meet business needs and support development team workflows.
• Promote a collaborative team environment and work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve goals. Track and monitor project progress against plans, requirements, quality measures, standard processes; liaise with clients on all aspects and during all phases of development and implementation.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to junior integration engineers.
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

• A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience in planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of critical ICT systems is required.
• Experience delivering software with the SCRUM framework
• Demonstrable experience in data integration and workflow scripting.
• Experience with system integration technologies (e.g. RESTful APIs, OAUTH 2.0, event brokers, data virtualization).
• Experience with integration platforms (e.g. Azure Services, Power Platform, MuleSoft, Boomi).
• Knowledge if ITIL processes. Familiarity with industry-standard technologies and systems such as Microsoft Windows, and Azure are required.
• Strong hands-on experience in writing unit tests.
• Strong knowledge of integration design and development processes (e.g. development, testing, debugging).
• Experience with distributed systems communicating via APIs and /or Message Queues.
• Experience with feature-driven software delivery.
• Proficiency with data modeling, manipulation, and distribution between applications.
• Strong proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g. Java, C#, SQL, MS Dynamics 365, MS Power Platform and Azure Integration platform.

Education

• University degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, economics, statistics or related field with five years of relevant professional experience.
• Diploma/Completed High School degree with seven years of relevant professional experience.

Language Proficiency

• Fluency in English is required (oral and written), and have at least a working knowledge of one additional Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).
• Working knowledge of Spanish or French is desirable
