HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Lead engineering development of Composite road frames, forks and associated parts from tooling start to pre-production:
  • Iterate product through design revisions, collaborating with testing engineers to ensure product meets performance and durability targets and iterating composite layups as necessary
  • Ensure tooled parts meet design targets, specifications and intended functionality
  • Partner closely with suppliers and manufacturing engineers to solve to manufacturing issues, including hands-on composite layup work and problem solving at our factories
  • Keep relevant documentation updated and Rev controlled in correct lifecycle
  • Collaborate with Road Product Team and Design Engineers to build manufacturing intent and engineering development requirements into new frame designs
  • Work closely with suppliers to understand how project requirements impact manufacturability and production readiness
  • Travel to Asia 5-8 times per year to support product development at the factory level
  • Support Manufacturing and Quality teams through pre-production and production
  • Analyze composite structures and design composite layups using FEA
  • Work closely with design engineers to analyze physical samples for layup and molding quality and provide critical feedback
  • Work with our suppliers to improve composite manufacturing processes

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN

  • Strong composites manufacturing knowledge, with 2 years’ experience in a mass-production environment
  • Experience with machining, tolerance analysis, and fixture and gauge design
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to balance and prioritize multiple objectives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Natural problem solving ability and superb attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of PTC Creo (ProE), 2D drawing creation, best practices/GD&T, and PLM systems- preferably Agile
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering degree with 2+ years of composites experience
  • Avid cyclist and bike mechanic
