As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for driving hardware and software development, working alongside a talented team of designers, product managers, engineers, manufacturers, and vendors. Your expertise and hands-on approach will be essential in developing innovative solutions that push the boundaries of e-Bike technology.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE 

As an e-Bike Electronic Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the electronic aspects of future e-Bike system components. Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Specification and Requirement Writing: Write detailed specifications and requirements for Li-ion battery packs based on inputs from product management and quality teams. 
  • Supplier Collaboration: Collaborate with suppliers to develop state-of-the-art solutions for e-Bike components. 
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with software and mechanical engineering teams to bring the bike platform vision to reality. 
  • Technology Assessment: Stay updated with novel technologies and evaluate their potential applications in e-Bikes. 
  • Dual Sourcing Strategies: Develop viable strategies, in coordination with product and engineering managers, for dual sourcing critical system components to mitigate risks. 
  • Integration of e-Bike Components: Find creative solutions to seamlessly integrate e-Bike components into the bike design, ensuring a focus on user experience and quality. 

In addition to the above, you will be responsible for in-house testing of e-Bike systems, which includes: 

  • Component Level Testing: Conduct testing to verify the hardware and firmware of Li-ion battery packs and other components. 
  • Third-Party Solution Verification: Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to verify the functionality and compatibility of third-party solutions. 
  • Collaboration with Quality Team: Work closely with the quality team to define the scope of testing, test cases, and other requirements. 
  • Complete System Testing: Support testing of both standalone e-Bike systems and complete bikes to ensure proper functionality and performance. 
  • Compatibility Evaluation: Evaluate the compatibility of electrical and electronic components and designs from suppliers. 
  • Issue Tracing and Coordination: Assist the quality team in tracing field issues and coordinate with suppliers to implement necessary fixes. 

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent experience. 
  • 1-3 years’ experience in product development, e.g., consumer electronics 
  • Knowledge of battery management systems of Li-ion battery packs 
  • Experience with automotive CAN communications 
  • Ability to multitask effectively among different projects in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills as you will collaborate with and coordinate between hardware and quality engineers, software developers, program managers, and suppliers across the globe 
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (approx. 10 – 20%) 
  • Excellent English skills (written and spoken) 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Knowledge of German is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Agile product lifecycle management tools is a plus. 
  • Experience working with international cultures and factories. 
  • Passion for cycling.
