Supplier Quality Manager – e-bike (w/m/d) 100%

We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Manager to join our Turbo e-bike Quality Team to deliver the absolute best cycling experience to Specialized riders around the world. In this role, you will be directly responsible for managing and oversight of the development and manufacturing processes used by our key ebike suppliers. You will drive continuous improvement in our suppliers’ development and manufacturing process by identifying gaps, and partnering across Specialized and supplier leadership teams to drive improvement programs. You will ensure that work performed by our suppliers is executed at a consistently high level and stands up to the requirements of the world’s best cycling brand.


How you will make a difference

  1. Supplier Management Relationship Management
    • Help develop requirements to drive improvement and accountability with our suppliers and internally
    • Identify best practices and best methods to implement requirements that move the needle and improve quality at every level
    • Own the relationship from a quality perspective and drive positive change
  1. Supplier Management Systems Improvement
    • Partner with suppliers to adjust quality and production systems to better match Specialized’s needs
    • Develop and continuously improve internal processes for Supplier Quality Management (e.g. audit data management, quality manuals, issue review processes)
    • Be the subject matter expert on production and audit standards for the e-bike business.
  1. Product Development Process Audits
    • Track gaps and own the timely resolution of corrective actions and improvements. Ensure implementation & traceability of running change
    • In partnership with our product development teams, follow up on execution and adherence to design and development processes at suppliers (e.g. APQP)
    • Review risk assessments, validation records, design review documents for completeness and adherence to internal process and Specialized requirements.
    • Audit test lab procedures, equipment, and standards.
  1. Manufacturing Process Audits
    • Conduct manufacturing process audits against rigorous automotive and quality standards (e.g. IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, ISO 9001)
    • Develop risk-based audit schedules and strategies
    • Manage audit-related data.
    • Own and drive the timeline closure of production audit observations
    • Escalate and communicate important issues to senior management through regular reviews. Stop the line in the even of critical issues.


What you need to win

  • Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Quality, or Systems Engineering – or a related technical discipline—with a business degree, minor or as part of the ideal candidate’s major course of studies
  • 7-10 years’ work experience, with 5+ years in a Supplier Quality role
  • Experience in managing relationships or ready to do so based on education, training, and experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading supplier audits and closure of corrective actions, preferably in the automotive space. Experience auditing against IATF 16949 or VDA 6.3 is a plus.
  • Experience with APQP or similar product development methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of basic electronic/mechantronic systems preferred
  • Learner who doesn’t have all the answers but open and willingness to learn and grow, plus an openness and willingness to customize and adopt approach for the bicycle industry. Ready to work in an innovative and fast-paced environment for the best bike brand in the world.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English & Chinese.
  • Passion for cycling, ebikes, or outdoor active lifestyle.
  • Ability to travel 60% of the time
