We are searching for a Global Web Frontend Developer to join our S-Digital team! As the Global Web Frontend Developer (FED) you'll be a part of the S-Digital Web Team managing, maintaining, and running the consumer facing brand website (S.com). You will need extensive experience building eCommerce experiences using SAP's Hybris / Commerce platform. You would be responsible for building new or updating existing UIs and for ongoing and new projects using various frameworks, including Commerce / Hybris and React.js. The ideal candidate has excellent written and communication skills and demonstrates senior-level Java and front-end development experience along with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. You must be able to work well independently as well as interacting with end users and project leads to provide technical recommendations, development scoping (e.g. level-of-effort analysis) and assist in producing technical and business requirements.
 
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
  • Work closely with other frontend and backend developers creating new features and components for specialized.com.
  • Work with marketing to execute page designs for a multi-country and multi-lingual audience.
  • Work with product teams to convey technical product information to customers.
  • Work with QA to validate functionality.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO WIN
  • Extensive experience on Web application development, Spring MVC pattern as a plus.
  • Experience with programming design patterns like Model-View-Controller (MVC).
  • Rock solid foundation of standards-compliant HTML 5, CSS, and native JavaScript.
  • Extensive experience building rich client experiences (web/mobile and or desktop) from ground up with JavaScript, CSS and HTML from creative mockups.
  • JavaScript frameworks–React and jQuery expertise are a must; Angular, Vue.js, etc. are a bonus; familiarity with other common libraries, like Lodash.
  • Experience developing on and supporting modern and legacy browsers and viewport sizes, with a "mobile first" mentality.
  • Ability to create responsive layouts utilizing common frameworks like Bootstrap, Foundation or Material.
  • CSS preprocessors like LESS and SASS and using tools like Grunt, Gulp.
  • Webpack basic knowledge.
  • Performance enhancements including minification, compression and concatenation of JavaScript and CSS.
  • Familiarity with caching strategies and proper structuring of HTML for SEO.
  • Thorough understanding of current browser landscape (limitations, support, upcoming support).
  • Web templating engine familiarity.
  • Experience consuming RESTful web services via AJAX, JSON and jQuery.
  • Server-side front-end work with JSP, JSTL.
  • Experience with J2EE, Java and web applications (Spring MVC, VM Templates, JSTL, JSP) is a bonus.
  • Familiar with agile development methodology and willing to learn our software development lifecycle.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or comparable discipline.
  • 4-7 years’ experience as a Frontend Engineer role working on a consumer facing enterprise-level application.
  • SAP Commerce (Hybris) 6.x or higher versions.
  • Backoffice usage and customization.
  • Solid understanding of current SEO standards and practices.
  • General understanding of SEM/SEO meta data tags.
  • Google Analytics or other analytics platform implementations.
  • Analytics tagging (GTM, Tealium).
  • Comfortable working with source code control and versioning tools (Git preferred)
  • Experience with Mobile app development.
  • Experience building eCommerce experiences using SAP's Commerce (Hybris) platform with a focus on front end development.
  • Experience with Atlassian Confluence, JIRA, and JIRA Service Desk.
  • Experience with Slack and Dropbox.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; technical writing experience is a plus.

  • SAP Certified Associate - SAP Hybris Commerce Business Analyst.
  • SAP Certified Development Professional - SAP Hybris Commerce.
