Analytics Engineer - Power BI Thought Leader
We are seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to join our Data Solutions team as a Power BI thought leader and to lead our Power BI Center of Excellence. This role will combine technical expertise with strategic vision to drive the adoption and optimization of Power BI across our client base and internal teams.
Ideal candidates will be able to:
- Lead the development and implementation of visualizations that communicate complex data analyses to non-technical audiences showcasing best practices and innovative approaches using tools such as
- Establish and manage the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence, creating standards, guidelines, and training materials
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data solutions that align with client business objectives
- Manage the analytics engineering and visualization lifecycle, including research, proof of concepts, architecture, design, development, testing, and maintenance
- Generate visualizations that communicate complex data analyses to non-technical audiences
- Partner with client stakeholders to foster the adoption of best data management practices
- Mentor and develop junior team members in North America as well as in our global delivery centers (GDC)
- Support sales cycles by leading scoping discussions and building proof of concept solutions
- Stay current with Business Intelligence tools and visualizations updates and industry trends, sharing knowledge across the organization
- Build and maintain Power BI Workspaces and developmental pipelines
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related field
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling
- Strong SQL skills and experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, AWS)
- Experience with modern data stack tools such as dbt, Fivetran, Matillion, or similar
- Familiarity with Python and other programming languages used in data analysis
- Understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience in consulting or client-facing roles
- Track record of successful project delivery using Agile methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Power BI certification(s) (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate – PL-300)
- Experience leading a Center of Excellence or similar initiative
- Knowledge of other BI tools (e.g., Sigma, Looker, Tableau) for comparative analysis
- Background in data governance and data quality management
- Experience with data science techniques and tools
