What You Will Do and Learn

We are looking for a hungry, humble, and smart Business Operations Director to join our Operations team!  

As part of the team, you will be supporting our Operations team with growth, strategy, and scale. You will be a business partner to the practice leadership to advise, drive and support business processes and analysis. Delivering objective insights and supporting high quality decision making are key to this role. You will build trusted relationships by creating a transparent source of truth for financial data.

Ideal candidates will play a critical role in:

Business Partnering

  • Become a trusted business advisor to practice and service line leaders.
  • Ensure leaders are set up for success by driving accountability with metrics and analytical support.
  • Act as a delegate for the practice/service line leads in representing the financial performance and relevant action plans for the business unit as needed.
  •  Provide practice leadership with data driven insights into business risks and opportunities.
  • Provide solution-oriented feedback on complex problems and communicating effectively to practice/service line leads.

Budgeting

  • Lead business planning, analytics, and reporting; partner with finance team to drive quarterly and annual financial planning and forecasting cycles.
  • Align executives on goals, targets, and KPIs.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Help manage the objectives and key results (OKR) process, syncing with leadership and initiative owners on a regular basis.
  • Provide data driven insights and trends related to practice finances, bookings, and utilization to senior leadership in a proactive, forward-looking manner.

Operations & Internal Strategy

  • Collaborate to continuously improve and automate operational processes and tools with growth and scale in mind.
  • Partner with cross functional groups to support onboarding, training, project close out, system and process enhancement and other routine operations.
  • Drive companywide operational efficiencies through policy, enablement, and process improvements.
  • Ad hoc analysis or other strategic initiatives, as needed.

People/Team

  • Act as a coach/mentor for other team members.
  • Further professional development and expertise of the team by fostering an environment of continuous learning and curiosity.
  • Define/maintain standard, consistent practices for the team
  • Communicate and explain new directives, policies, or procedures to business operations staff, answer questions, and maintain morale. 

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of operations or finance experience within a professional services organization
  • Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance, particularly related to professional services.
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Superior managerial and diplomacy skills
  • Ability to collaborate, solve problems, and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, communication, and project management skills
  • Able to thrive in a virtual/distributed team environment.
  • Must be agile, flexible and creative problem-solver.
  • Salesforce, FinancialForce, and/or Anaplan experience preferred.
