What to expect as a Junior Accountant & Controller
You will be part of the Finance Team at Sparrow Ventures. As a Junior Accountant & Controller you will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity and accuracy. In this role you will be responsible for handling the sub-ledgers and be a strong helping hand in the monthly closing and reporting process. You will also be in charge of maintaining and improving our BI tool and dashboards to ensure a clear view of the performance of our portfolio.
Your areas of responsibility include
- You are responsible for our portfolio companies sub-ledgers
- You will assist our startups to scale by handling the monthly billing process and payment receipt reconciliation
- You are responsible for the preliminary review of our account payables, the account assignment and journal postings
- You will support our Finance Manager in the monthly closing process and the reporting to our group organization (Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund)
- You will help our Controlling Manager in maintaining our BI tool with its dashboards
- Over time you will take over different reporting and controlling tasks
What you bring to the table
- Commercial education or a higher degree with specialization in accounting and controlling
- First professional experience in Accounting and Controlling
- Analytical and solution-oriented thinking with attention to detail
- Excellent German and English writing and communication skills
- Good IT user knowledge especially Excel, some application experience of Abacus and Power BI is advantageous
- Highly motivated personality with a can-do attitude who loves to work in a fast paced and continuously changing business environment
- You love to work in a team and achieve goals together
