The Sparrow Ventures Venture Building Teams consist of Venture Architecture, Product, Design, Growth and Tech - so Sparrow Ventures is a serious full stack corporate venture builder. We don’t work with freelancers or agencies in order to be truly customer-centric, agile, and lightning fast in building startups.
What to expect as a Head of Growth
As Head of Growth at Sparrow Ventures your job will consist of two roles: Firstly, as the functional head of the growth team, you will be responsible for a team of growth marketers as well as for tools and processes around the commercialization of our ventures. Secondly, as part of the venture building management team, you will wield strong influence on which ideas should turn into projects (and whether they should continue) as well as co-own venture building tools and processes. You will be a role model of our values, such as approaching tasks outcome-oriented, basing your decisions on data, acting humble and with integrity, and being a passionate entrepreneur.
As Head of Growth you will..
- be responsible for the commercialization of our ventures, primarily through the collaboration with the growth team
- be responsible for all advertising activities and budgets
- define, lead, and develop the growth team
- empower ventures and the growth team through knowledge management and transfer
- ensure the venture development to be customer-centric
- support our venture building process from signal identification, through validated learnings, traction and scale-up by shaping the toolbox and methodologies applied
- contribute to go/no-go decisions
Requirements
- Significant experience in a leadership position in a digital start-up
- Significant hands-on experience in acquiring customers in a digital start-up
- Customer-centric mindset with experience in generating qualitative and quantitative insights and using those insights to inform your marketing strategies
- Success in an entrepreneurial environment and ability to manage and execute multiple priorities at a fast-paced company while operating independently through ambiguity with minimal supervision
- Experience leading teams to design research methodologies, e.g. facilitate focus groups
- The ability to distill complex information into understandable, actionable, persuasive assets
- A strong bias to action and sense of curiosity
- Superb communication of concepts and ideas to stakeholders at all levels including C-level executives
- Fluent in German and English as we operate primarily in a German speaking market and have an English speaking company culture
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what's necessary
