CHILD & YOUTH WORKER
A playful 9-year-old boy with Autism, ADHD, and Down syndrome, living in Sawmill Creek area. As a caregiver, a typical session would include engaging the client with exercise, ideally outdoors while supervising safety, and going to new areas for stimulation. Our client loves to run, climb trees, go to indoor parks, playground, kick ball indoors, and play with toys!
You would be the ideal candidate to work with us if you are someone who is energetic, comfortable with hygiene support, has experience with ASD/ADHD and behaviours.
Please Note: The family has requested a caregiver who has received both doses of their COVID-19 vaccine.
HOURS:
One 2 hour shift on Saturday or Sunday (Flexible time, potentially 3 hours)
RATE OF PAY:
$25/hr
Requirements
- Cover letter outlining why you would be a great match for Spark. Tell us who you are!
- Valid First Aid and CPR Standard Level "C" certification
- Smartphone with a data plan
- Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 12 months)
Assets
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team
- University and/or College education in a related field
- Driver’s License “G” class with access to a reliable vehicle
- CPI, TCI, and/or NVCI training (current certification)
Spark is looking to hire motivated, dedicated, and experienced Child and Youth Support Workers. In this role, you’ll be working with children and youth in the community living with Autism Spectrum Disorder, varying mental illnesses, and behavioural challenges.
Care is tailored to each person, so each position is unique. Some clients need mainly in-home support. Others require support participating in community activities. Whatever the circumstances, we want people who will genuinely care about their well-being.
