DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES WORKER
Our client is a 20-year-old guy with an intellectual disability, ADHD, emotional and adjustment disorders living in Smiths Falls. He is looking for support and engagement with leisure activities he enjoys. You would also guide and teach him appropriate behaviours, assist with meal preparation and encourage good personal hygiene. Please note: Care would take place in his apartment monitored by care providers and, as well as outdoors. He loves painting, selling things online, video games, playing cards, knitting, listening to music, and going out into the community to small shops.
You would be the ideal candidate to work with us if you are someone who is confident but easy going, non confrontational and calm, and can maintain firm boundaries.
Please Note: The family has requested a caregiver who has received both doses of their COVID-19 vaccine.
Weekdays: Monday to Wednesday from 3pm- 11pm
Friday from 3pm- 9pm
Saturday and Sunday from 9am- 9pm
RATE OF PAY

- Valid First Aid and CPR Standard level C certification
- Smartphone with a data plan
- Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 12 months)
- DSW Certification
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team
- University and/or College education in a related field
- Driver’s License “G” class with access to a vehicle
Spark is looking to hire motivated, dedicated, and experienced Developmental Service Workers. In this role, you’ll be supporting individuals in the community requiring direct care with personal hygiene, behaviour management, meal preparation, organization, and light housekeeping.
Care is tailored to each person, so each position is unique. Some clients need mainly in-home support. Others require support participating in community activities. Whatever the circumstances, we want people who will genuinely care about their wellbeing.
