ACCOUNTING MANAGER (BRAZIL)
As the company expands its international footprint and provides Starlink (our revolutionary satellite low-latency broadband internet) across LATAM, Starlink Internet Services Pte. Ltd. is seeking an accounting manager based in Brazil to help ensure our financial reporting obligations are met.
You will focus on local operations and join our new, dynamic business division, Starlink. Its mission is to deliver global internet access, and it is ideally suited to support rural and geographically isolated areas where internet connectivity is unreliable or nonexistent. Based in Brazil, this is a broad and varied role, supporting the existing team with tax and accounting work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the financial statement audit process for the Brazil entity and other LATAM entities
- Prepare statutory financial statements for subsidiaries across the region, intercompany accounting, recording of entries between group companies
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, VAT balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries arising from entity level review at month end, and VAT/GST returns for review by senior accountant, including retrieval of data from systems for all regional entities
- Partner with tax team to record intercompany entries including, but not limited to, transfer pricing and intercompany interest
- Prepare payments files and assist with the completion of the corporate income tax returns and year-end tax provision
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing local files and tracking of intercompany balances
- Research and resolve tax technical issues arising in the tax compliance process, support day-to-day finance operations in region as required, and ad hoc finance projects as directed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in accounting, tax, finance, or business discipline
- Finalist or recently qualified Chartered Accountant
- 7+ years of accounting or audit experience in public accounting/Big 4, or with a multinational organization, including experience with accounting matters and tax across region
- Fluency in Spanish
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Financial reporting experience, GAAP, and some knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience with the multinational environment
- Detail-oriented, excellent analytical skills, and numerically minded
- Advanced Excel skills
- Intercompany accounting experience
- VAT/GST experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with global teams, and ability to be a team player within a small local team
- Ability to work to multiple tight deadlines
- Ability to embrace change based on business needs, and ability to work in a startup-type environment. Adaptability and flexibility will be essential
- Pursuing or looking to pursue AITI exams
- SQL experience
