PRODUCTION OPERATIONS ANALYST (STARLINK)
At SpaceX we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to 4M+ users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer receivers that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact and are looking for best-in-class engineers to help maximize Starlink’s utility for communities and businesses around the world.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Own data integrity, tool maintenance, and reporting quality for the production strategy, operations, and planning team
Develop and improve data inputs for demand signals, machine utilization, and general production prioritization
Analyze and determine insights from trends and operating metrics to inform critical department strategy and targets
Define and develop department-level metrics and associated dashboards that quantify the health of our operation and influence change
Train internal users and leaders on dashboard and tool usage, assist in troubleshooting
Improve data capture for future Starlink factory use cases, identifying requirements and collaborating with software development teams on development
Produce data visualizations using both Grafana and PowerBI software tools
Produce complex ad-hoc queries and reports to steer the production organization
Design, develop, and debug new tools to best fit the needs of a fast-paced growth
Support new line bring-up, continuous improvement, and larger cross-functional strategic initiatives
Integrate with all levels of the business to understand current workflows and identify systematic gaps; help rapidly answer tactical business questions through analytical frameworks
Develop automation that creates efficiencies within Starlink factory operations and across functions
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, statistics, operations management, engineering, mathematics, or similar technical discipline
2+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, supply chain management, or consulting role
1+ years of experience with SQL and creating and managing dashboards using data visualization tools
Proficient in at least one analytics language (ex. Python)
Experience with time-series databases (ex: InfluxDB)
Experience with web-based Python applications (ex: Flask)
Advanced understanding of database structures, query optimizations, ETL development
Start-up, consulting, or other demonstrated experience in high-growth, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Strong project management and self-directed prioritization skills
Exceptional ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences at all organizational levels
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships across disciplines and with multiple levels of management
Experience performing data analysis on manufacturing systems (e.g. manufacturing execution systems, enterprise resource planning)
Master’s degree in computer science, management information systems, statistics, operations management, engineering, mathematics, or similar technical discipline
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
Must be willing to travel up to 10%
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range: Production Operations Analyst/Level I: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00/per year Production Operations Analyst/Level II: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
