PURCHASING PLANNER (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY)
The SpaceX purchasing department is a critical player in our corporate operations. This role will be responsible for supporting our Information Technology team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Place a high volume of purchase orders and maintain accurate inventory levels for Information Technology hardware
Ensure supply continuity by executing a well-thought-out demand plan that optimizes working capital
Expand IT planning scope as needed, train stakeholders and set-up part numbers
Coordinates with accounts payable and receiving to resolve invoice issues, and proactively addresses root cause of issues to avoid re-occurrence
Challenges internal stakeholders’ expedite requirements to control logistics costs and works directly with suppliers to improve logistics policy adherence
Develop demand models specific to category/project strategies
Ensure data integrity and strategic alignment by working closely with suppliers, stakeholders, and procurement managers
Provide regular updates to internal customers and team members on project status and lead meetings including suppliers
Provide forecasts to suppliers and to purchasing team members as needed for RFPs
Be the go-to contact for internal customers to resolve supply issues and address new demand
Analyze data derived from SQL to identify opportunities
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or other technical or business disciplines
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Familiarity with ERP systems and purchasing/planning functions
Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment
Advanced excel skills
Excellent customer service skills (courtesy, professionalism)
Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
Critical thinking skills
Coalition-building skills, including proven success working on cross-functional projects
Experience with IT hardware procurement or supply chains
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to travel - up to 10% work week travel may be required
Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet major milestones
Ability to communicate outside of work hours
This position is based in Hawthorne, CA and requires being onsite - hybrid and remote work not considered
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range:
Purchasing Planner: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
