SR. COUNSEL, SPACEPORT INFRASTRUCTURE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide expert legal guidance on matters related to developing infrastructure at SpaceX’s spaceport in South Texas (and other locations)—acquisition and development of land, construction of space/airport-type facilities and accommodations, transportation, energy and power generation, water supply
Draft and negotiate land purchases, easements, rights-of-way, leases and real estate transaction documents
Advise on county and State requirements related building and permitting water, power, communications and waste water treatment utilities
Advise on Federal environmental and Department of Transportation requirements associated with development of space/airport-type infrastructure
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to brief county, State, and Federal regulators on applicable matters
Negotiate complex construction and vendor contracts related to space/airport infrastructure development
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Juris Doctor degree
Active licensed attorney
8+ years of experience with real estate, land and/or infrastructure development issues
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge and/or experience with natural gas project development, power generation contracts and operations, Texas Railroad Commission requirements for oil and gas operations, mineral rights agreements
Experience with projects involving U.S. Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and/or Department of Transportation Section 4(f) process
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willingness to travel 4 to 6 times a year to the different SpaceX offices for a week at a time
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Sr. Counsel: $220,000.00 - $260,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
