PRODUCTION MACHINIST (STARLINK) – 2nd SHIFT
As a CNC Production Machinist on the Ultra Precision Machining team, you will be responsible for manufacturing, developing, and continuously improving key technologies consisting of micron level tolerance machined parts at production volumes. This is a unique and challenging opportunity to use world class equipment, learn diamond turning, and work with some of the best and brightest in their fields. The scope of this team is to make the parts that other companies cannot, and to continue to push the boundaries of what is possible to machine.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operating multi-axis CNC machines, CMM’s, and test equipment to help facilitate the manufacturing of micron level tolerance parts at production volumes
- Maintain maximum machine up time by following defined work instructions and actively maintaining best practices
- Identifying and reporting off nominal issues
- Keep a clean and safe work environment following company guidelines
- Actively seek out and feedback process improvements and efficiency opportunities to engineering/leadership
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of experience with g-code, set up, operation and/or programming of CNC mills/lathes
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years of horizontal mill setup experience
- 3+ years of vertical mill setup experience
- 1+ year of 5 axis mill setup experience
- Experience using pallet systems and cells
- CNC programming experience using NX
- Diamond turning experience
- Experience operating a CMM
- Experience with micron level tolerance parts and how to handle/inspect them
- Experience working with aluminum and copper
- Experience working in production machining cells
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be available to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed. Estimated shift time; 2nd shift (4:00 PM to 2:30 AM)
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to stand for extended periods - 8 hours min
- Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
- Ability to work in an environment with repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Production Machinist (Starlink)/Level 1: $22.00 - $26.50/hour
Production Machinist (Starlink)/Level 2: $25.00 - $31.00/hour
Production Machinist (Starlink)/Level 3: $27.00 - $34.50/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
