FACILITIES SPECIALIST
At SpaceX, we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation, providing fast, reliable internet to 3M+ users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact, and the Facilities Specialist will play a unique role in building and maintaining the Redmond campus.
The Facilities Specialist provides maintenance support and coordination for critical facility needs and operates as a primary point of contact for maintenance vendors across the campus. Working in collaboration with Facilities management, the Specialist will oversee Jira ticket management, maintenance scheduling, and coordination of access to campus buildings and outside vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Track and assign facility requests through Jira to Maintenance Technicians.
- Maintain Interior office and factory cleanliness and organize office cleanups.
- Plan, set up, and execute events for VIPs, vendors, and internal staff.
- Recommend move plans and help with office relocations.
- Perform job walks with key business unit managers and supervisors.
- Work with the purchasing department to ensure vendors are approved, vetted, and insured.
- Help support and manage campus services such as the bike program, laundry program, and office supplies.
- Assist with badging, ITAR, NDA requirements, and safety training.
- Create RFPO’s, assist the manager with furniture and vendor selection, and track purchase orders.
- Weekly updates tracking project schedules and status reports.
- Meet with key SpaceX end users and establish the scope of work.
- Assist the Facilities manager(s) in all aspects of project implementation as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 5+ years of experience in managing facilities vendors or contract management.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with managing commercial, office, or industrial facilities.
- Familiar with Space Planning procedures and operations.
- Knowledge of basic computer applications, and ability to easily navigate through different computer software programs.
- Ability to create and update RFPO’s and facilities work orders in an ERP software.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to make independent judgments with limited information.
- Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in writing) between other employees, vendors, and customers.
- Able to read and understand basic floor plans.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs unassisted.
- Able to stand for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position.
- Must be able to travel - up to 5% work week travel may be required to other SpaceX sites
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Facilities Specialist - Level I: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00/per year
Facilities Specialist - Level II: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.
