CNC MACHINIST (STARLINK) - 2ND SHIFT - LEVEL 4/5
At SpaceX we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to 3M+ users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact and are looking for best-in-class CNC Machinists to help maximize Starlink’s utility for communities and businesses around the globe.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for setting up, operating multi-axis CNC machines (mills and lathes) up to and including 5 axis mills and 6 axis lathes
- Responsible for all types of drilling, tapping, milling and turning of CNC machines
- Responsible for completing machining operations from blueprints, drawings and/or verbal instructions
- Responsible for working with complex, tight tolerance parts and various materials
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 6+ years of experience with g-code, set up, operation and/or programming of CNC mill/lathe machines
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years of horizontal mill experience
- 10+ years of lathe experience
- 10+ years of CNC programming experience
- Ability to read and work off of a blueprint
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be available for 2nd shift (3:30 PM to 2 AM)
- Ability to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to stand for extended periods - 8 hours min
- Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
- Ability to work in an environment with repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
CNC Machinist/Level 4: $37.00 - $45.00/hour
CNC Machinist/Level 5: $42.00 - $52.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
