About the Team

Sovrn's Publisher Development team is dedicated to our clients' success. As part of this global team of sellers and relationship managers, the Account Executive will bring a proactive planning and strategic approach to selling new accounts and cultivating growth with existing accounts in the US supply market. 

About the Role

To excel in this role, you will need to bring a proactive and strategic approach, leveraging your strategic thinking, creativity, and innovation to develop winning commercial and partnership strategies in a competitive market. This influential position combines strategic planning, business development, internal communications, and cross-functional initiatives. Reporting directly to the Manager, Publisher Development, you will be involved in all aspects of publisher growth, development, and execution. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Drive revenue generation from new publishers - revenue generation from new publisher accounts across various formats and product lines. 
  • Identify strategic supply partnership opportunities such as video, desktop, CTV, and in app buying/selling, as well as programmatic and managed services executions. 
  • Create, implement, and own a sales pipeline for the assigned territory.
  • Work closely with the Supply/Demand teams, GTM teams in the US & UK, Sales Engineers and Marketing.  
  • Regularly communicate updates on sales targets and client relationships.
  • Establish and cultivate strong relationships with client organizations, navigating complex matrices throughout the entire sales cycle.
  • Identify client needs and ensure proper contract execution for new publisher integrations.
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills as well as outstanding people skills.
  • Develop customized client solutions by leveraging Sovrn's comprehensive suite of products, including media, commerce, and data.
  • Collaborate with your manager and account team to evaluate strategic opportunities, review potential strategies, and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Utilize Salesforce and Excel to manage sales activities effectively.

A successful candidate should have:  

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in digital (programmatic) ad sales, with a proven track record of success.
  • Knowledge of programmatic buying and selling processes, familiarity with key SSPs, DSPs, trading desks, DMPs, and agencies.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to nurture and mentor customers, focusing on solving their important problems.
  • Strong sales-hunting skills, leveraging existing contacts with publishers to build a substantial book of business.
  • High level of integrity, exceptional presentation skills, and excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet and exceed revenue goals across multiple accounts.
  • Capability to distill key learnings and insights to relevant internal team members in a rapidly evolving marketplace and product portfolio.
  • Proficiency in simplifying complex concepts and communicating them effectively in both written and verbal communications.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset, fostering a cooperative work environment.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses the organizational skills necessary to manage a large and diverse account list.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience in relevant discipline; post-graduate degree preferred

Compensation and Benefits

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate compensation range for this role in New York, NY is $125,000 to $175,000, including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills and certifications.
