As a Business Development Manager, Publisher Services you are the engine driving successful and profitable outcomes for sovrn’s most valued asset: our publishers. Specifically, you will be tasked with helping steward larger publishers that drive a greater growth for the business. A Business Development Manager, Publisher Services is well versed in the Sovrn ecosystem and routinely not only achieves, but exceeds quota. Beyond your book, you routinely help improve the team and company across many facets. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow deep relationships with Sovrn publishers by establishing oneself as their subject matter expert and key partner for success
  • Proactively chase and manage Strategic new business
  • Pays high attention to detail and be able to connect partners to appropriate solutions, and manage multiple clients, tasks, and responsibilities simultaneously
  • Grow existing accounts and increase revenue across all sovrn products
  • Demonstrate persistence, tenacity, ability to overcome obstacles, and handle objections
  • Establish trust and integrate deeply with your publisher partners to bring strategic growth plans forward. 
  • Not only do you deeply understand your publishers, you can provide education to them about the industry as a whole, their business, and help them mitigate unforeseen problems
  • Ability to provide player-coach help for other team members on the Account Management team
  • Ability to help find office wide solutions to problems you encounter with your publishers and help drive implementation across the whole team
  • Manage integration and onboarding of new signed clients as well as day to day relationship management of current data clients
  • Gain a deep understanding of your publisher's needs and opportunities and use this information to inform product development
  • Understand client's long-term goals so that you can align them with our product offerings and identify new opportunities to grow this partnership
  • Consistently meet or exceed assigned quota and other sales performance criteria/objectives within a larger and more volatile set of publishers
  • Perform regular QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews) with publishers
  • Clearly articulate Sovrn’s value proposition in the advertising marketplace and represent Sovrn externally
  • Assist in developing marketing materials and other customer testimonials

Requirements:

Must have

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 2-4+ years of account management experience 
  • Excellent prospecting and closing skills demonstrated through a proven track record of closing and growing business
  • The ability to write succinct, crisp emails and posses great phone presence 
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to talk in large crowds
  • Ability to organize, multi­-task, and prioritize effectively in a fast-­paced environment
  • Understanding of the online advertising industry/eco-system including DSP’s, behavioral targeting and data providers
  • Ability to read, organize, and analyze large data sets in order to understand and provide publishers with solutions helping to increase revenue 

Nice to have

  • Knowledge/Experience in ad serving or other advertising technology systems a plus.
  • Familiarity with current ad tech landscape and Sovrn’s place and value proposition in the market

Technical skills

  • Internet savvy and strong proficiency in office productivity tools (Gmail, Google Apps, Confluence/JIRA, Salesforce CRM)
  • Ability to put together and present high quality presentations in PowerPoint 
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Vlookups, Formulas, pivot tables, etc)
  • Understand and navigate reporting tools such as Tableau and Grafana

  • Highly articulate; excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer relationship development and management skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Quickly establish trust and rapport with key stakeholders at all levels of an organization
  • Flexibility in approach and willingness to adapt when necessary, including when dealing with team
  • Proactively review current procedures and confidently make recommendations for improvements with consideration to internal and external in the organization
