The Publisher Services team seeks to be an advocate and trusted partner to all of Sovrn’s publishing partners. It is the responsibility of the PS team to create, grow and maintain relationships with publishers through reinforcing the Sovrn mission to support them across their businesses. The PS team drive adoption of Sovrn solutions and act as key source of customer feedback for the rest of the business. 

About the Job

The position is expected to raise sales efficiency, sales productivity and process compliance within the Publisher Services organization. This will be achieved by means of excellent management of the publisher growth and account management team, with a focus on acquisition/pipeline management strategy and implementing global and regional best practice sales & services operations processes. This individual must work collaboratively across-business functions including Publisher Services Leadership, Publisher Growth, Publisher Account Management, Data Science and Finance. The ability to communicate effectively in a fast paced environment and engage with all relevant stakeholders is critical.

The Publisher Services Manager at Sovrn is an advocate and trusted partner to key publishing partners. Through a technical and operational focus, this publisher facing role will help build and grow relationships with publishers through reinforcing the Sovrn mission to support them across their businesses. This role provides the opportunity to become a key strategic partner for publishers, while driving adoption of durable Sovrn solutions across the industry and influencing the publisher and product lifecycle at Sovrn. We are looking for a connected, ambitious, and relationship driven ad operations professional to help drive our mission and convey the power of our solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Pitching, selling, and helping other team members close opportunities for any Sovrn product with any size publisher
  • Equal parts contributor and team leader to publisher services
  • Guide teams through weekly sprints and monthly planning
  • Work with Publisher Growth Leadership to drive growth strategies
  • Help guide and develop individual growth of junior members of the team through 1:1s
  • Identify gaps and blockers and work with teams and leaders to drive long term solutions
  • Ability to help provide data and publisher feedback when critical issues arise
  • Able to understand and articulate the vision and direction for the team and Sovrn
  • Responsible for day to day management of outbound lead flow
  • Work with finance and planning teams to manage and maintain Sovrn Publisher Services data in Salesforce.com and other relevant software programs
  • Provide team training and adoption of Salesforce best practices
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and KPIs within Publisher Services and in conjunction with the Finance team
  • Work with Publisher Services Leadership to identify, propose and implement sales cycle process improvements within the Publisher Services organization
  • Establish and maintain on-going and effective communication with Global Publisher Services team
  • Assist Publisher Services leadership with pipeline/opportunity analysis
  • Prepare weekly/monthly business review summaries and presentations
  • Work cross functionally with Ad Operations, Marketing, Data Science and Demand teams
  • Extract business insights from data and translate into actionable business recommendations that drive Publisher growth
  • Lead projects relating to the advancement of Publisher Services initiatives
  • Leads team stand-ups and wrap ups
  • Identify closest to close and high risk opportunities and accounts, working with Director to help report and strategize
  • Remove barriers to success of their team(s) and helps strategize future growth
  • Point of escalation within the team for most issues and contracts
  • Represent the POV of publishers based on in-market feedback

About You

  • Sales Operations competence (forecasting, planning, sales systems, processes and methodologies, compensation and quota management)
  • General understanding of Sales Systems and knowledge domains relevant to specific processes and practices (within their application track)
  • Experience with financial modelling and analytical tools such as Excel, Salesforce, and other analytics tools
  • Ability to read, organize, and analyze large data sets in order to understand and improve current processes 
  • Ability to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis, yet translate those results to easily digestible messages, communications, and presentations
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage conflicting priorities and to complete assignments under aggressive time constraints independently
  • Demonstrated ability to be productive with minimal supervision. Must be results oriented and able to move forward without complete information

The successful candidate will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience working in or supporting sales teams
  • 2+ years in a supervisory, team lead or managerial role
  • Proficient with Salesforce.com
  • Proficient with MS Excel or similar 
  • Team player with ability to work effectively with diverse audiences, management levels, cultures, and personalities
  • Ability to understand the strategic direction and translate this into practical sales objectives
  • Strong problem solving/analysis capability 
  • Decision making skills
