The SPLC is seeking an Events Operations Coordinator that is passionate about executing events focused on justice, equity, diversity and inclusion!
The Events Operations Coordinator is a key member of the Events team at SPLC and delivers exceptional customer service while creating memorable experiences for event attendees. They assist the Manager of Events with executing events for internal and external stakeholders and coordinates all aspects of events. The employee in this position will need to be able to work a flexible work schedule, which may include nights, weekends and overtime.

What You'll Do
Support events and meetings with audiences that include the Executive and Leadership teams, internal SPLC teams, the Board and other outside groups.
Duties include, but are not limited to, set-up and strike of event furnishings, basic audio-visual support, on-site event support, and execution of events while ensuring all logistical requirements are carried out according to event plans.
Coordinate and conducts site tours for external groups.
Develop and maintain communications with conference attendees to ensure their needs are being met and provide an open forum for them.
Communicate to all relevant internal departments and subcontractors the specific needs of the event and attendees, both in advance of and during the event as required by the deadline dates specified.
Participate in planning meetings, reviewing the details of events and discussing relevant logistical matters.
Travel to events and provide on-site event support.
Maintain a master calendar for all scheduled events to be held in the Montgomery event center.
Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
Minimum Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of event and meeting planning and coordination experience, including mid to large in-person events; and
- High School Diploma or GED.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a non-exempt role and the minimum starting salary is $55,824 ($26.84 per hour) annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Where & How You'll Work
This role the following work designations options:
- In-Office: Will work from the Montgomery, AL SPLC office during scheduled work hours.
- This position reports to the Manager, Events.
Other Special Considerations
This job is performed under general office conditions and is not subject to any strenuous physical demands or dangerous conditions. Travel is expected up to 20%.
