As a Tax Associate at SoundCloud, you will be an essential part of our tax team at our Berlin headquarters. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Group Tax Manager and the Director of Tax, supporting a wide range of tax-related tasks across multiple jurisdictions. This position is ideal for someone who is eager to grow their skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with opportunities to learn and gain exposure to global tax processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and submitting corporate tax returns, VAT/GST filings, and WHT filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Support the processing of indirect and withholding taxes across various jurisdictions.
  • Help in maintaining and updating transfer pricing documentation and policies, ensuring compliance with global standards.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of tax processes, with a focus on process improvement and automation.
  • Work closely with the Finance team during monthly and annual closing processes, ensuring accurate tax account reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing for financial and tax audits, ensuring thorough documentation and timely responses.
  • Collaborate with other internal teams on tax-related matters, providing support where necessary.
  • Stay updated on local and international tax regulations, ensuring compliance and assisting in research when needed.

Experience & Background:

  • Some experience in a tax role, whether through internships or previous positions, preferably within a corporate tax department or a tax consultancy.
  • Basic knowledge of international tax laws and accounting rules with interest to expand the skillset in technical tax knowledge.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, with the ability to handle and analyze data effectively.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with German being a plus.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
  • A desire to learn, grow, and contribute in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
