As a Group Tax Manager at SoundCloud, you will be a key strategic partner within our Berlin headquarters, playing a crucial role in the evolution and success of our global tax function. In this senior position, you’ll manage the company’s global tax strategy, ensuring compliance with international tax laws and regulations and optimizing our tax position, working closely with the Director of Tax and other senior stakeholders. You will also be responsible for identifying and implementing tax processes and solutions that meet regulatory and governance standards.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive impactful tax-related initiatives, shape our tax processes, and lead complex projects across multiple jurisdictions that align with SoundCloud’s dynamic growth and global presence. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the group’s global tax compliance obligations, including preparing and submitting corporate tax returns, VAT/GST filings, and WHT filings, ensuring precision and compliance across all jurisdictions.
  • Ensure proper processing of indirect and withholding taxes internationally, with a high motivation to drive automation and process improvements and optimize efficiency.
  • Spearheaded the development of tax compliance strategies at SoundCloud, setting new standards, and establishing comprehensive tax guidelines that align with our global operations.
  • Collaborate with Finance teams within annual financial audits and support tax audits, ensuring thorough preparation and successful outcomes.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams on tax-related matters/projects and act as a proactive business partner to provide tax advice on business initiatives, M&A transactions, and expansions, providing strategic insights that support business objectives.

Experience & Background:

  • Extensive experience within a tax department of a multinational corporation or a top-tier tax consultancy firm, with a proven track record of managing complex tax operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of German and international tax laws and basic accounting knowledge (HGB and IFRS), with the ability to navigate and influence tax policies within a global context.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and familiarity with tax software and financial systems, enabling you to analyze and present complex data effectively.
  • Fluency in English and German, both written and spoken. You possess an exceptional communication style that allows you to convey complex tax concepts clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.
  • A strategic mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, comfortable in a fast-paced environment where success is measured by tangible outcomes and innovative solutions.
