We are recruiting a Product Marketing Associate for the Product team to drive product marketing activities for the Sound Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE) portfolio. This role has an emphasis on the 4P’s (product, price, place, promotion) of Sound’s NUE portfolio as well as empowering current sales team efforts through leading training, communication, and materials efforts. 

The role reports to the Sr Manager of Product Marketing. In typical times, travel up to 25% will be required to meet with internal and external stakeholders. This position can be based remotely across the United States or in our Emeryville, CA headquarters. 



  • Develop materials and execute training to educate and empower the sales team
  • Interpret data and create effective messaging for internal and external audiences
  • Support product marketing strategy and execution (e.g., Performance Guarantee, Nitrogen Reduction Pilot)
  • Establish, document, and maintain detailed understanding of customers, competitors, and company dynamics within defined chemistry segments
  • Manage the marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion) for the NUE portfolio
  • Create and execute segment, brand, and tactical plans for category offerings
  • Support annual go-to-market process for NUE portfolio including development of training materials, sales support, planning and support of key in-market events, and customer and stakeholder engagement
  • Provide Product Marketing leadership in development of marketing materials including collateral, website, email, etc.


Target Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated success in product marketing, customer marketing, account management, consulting, or similar project-driven, outcome-oriented role
  • Experience in agricultural inputs is a plus
  • Demonstrated success working in cross-functional organizations / organizational structures
  • Able to see the big picture, prioritize focus areas, and generate strategic options based on research and analysis
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders to deliver results
  • Able to develop a deep understanding in technical areas of chemistry and biology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Drive to work hard, collaborate, and create winning solutions to challenging problems in fast-paced startup environment
  • Passion to create change in agriculture
