We are seeking an Email & Content Marketing Associate to expand, cultivate, and effectively communicate with our audience through strategic email campaigns and copywriting. We are looking for a candidate with strong writing skills, creativity, and the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines with ease. This is a highly collaborative position supporting brand awareness, driving sales, and curating meaningful engagement among various audiences. The Email & Content Marketing role supports Sales, Sales Agronomy, Product Marketing and the company as a whole as a critical contributor to the Corporate Marketing team. 

This position reports to the Senior Content Manager and can be based remotely across the United States or in our Emeryville, CA headquarters.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with manager to build an email and SMS marketing strategy that grows newsletter subscribers and increases customer engagement
  • Lead all email and SMS marketing deployment, targeting various audience segments including row crop farmers and ag retailers
  • Write, design and create high performing email campaigns that deliver timely content and drive customer engagement
  • Ensure content is optimized for audiences with A/B testing and other strategies, and ensure user and mobile-friendly experiences across all platforms
  • Proactively monitor, analyze and report on campaign effectiveness using learnings to improve email campaign performance
  • Work closely with Sales and Product Marketing teams to understand business priorities and generate timely content to support those priorities 
  • Create and implement automated email programs that engage customers throughout their lifecycle with unique, action-triggered content
  • Assist in the development of marketing collateral through creative copywriting and project management to ensure on-time delivery
  • Work with design partners to continually elevate the look of marketing emails and collateral
  • Ensure compliance with email marketing laws and regulations
  • Work closely with Business Operations Manager to develop and maintain CRM strategies

Targeted Skills & Experience

  • Competency and extensive experience in list management, database hygiene, building strategic segmentation, email personalization and A/B content testing  
  • Competency and substantive experience in fine-tuned copywriting that conveys strategic messaging with creative writing, with examples to demonstrate
  • Demonstrated success creating multiple email marketing campaigns including strategy creation, planning, deployment, and measurement of success
  • Well equipped in basic email marketing principles and technologies including marketing software platforms, email automation and HTML (ideally Active Campaign)
  • Experience in copywriting or creative writing with demonstrated creativity in email design; passion for visual and written communications
  • Familiarity with CRM systems; strong preference for experience using SalesForce 
  • Combination of creative and analytical skills and a commitment to quality and accuracy, including adherence to brand standards
  • Deep understanding of agriculture and the mindset of farmers and ag retailers
  • Self starter with strong project ownership and interest in working in a fast moving, high impact startup
  • Proven ability to discover, scope, and deliver creative solutions to meet customer needs
