THE ROLE:

Sotheby’s HR function is transforming into a commercial, consultative and influencing business partner, responsible for the development and delivery of integrated people solutions for Sotheby’s business client groups.  You will have full responsibility supporting the employees and leaders within the allocated business units. You'll own and deliver recruitment, employee relations, performance management, succession planning, and strategic projects. You will lead the delivery of all HR services to internal client groups, as well as partner closely with regional and global counter parts on D&I, Talent & Development, and Recruiting, to help leaders drive the people agenda, advise on critical talent decisions and achieve operational excellence for the business.

  • Act as key point of contact to provide end to end HR account services to business units aligning people and business strategies to fulfill business goals
  • Provide HR services to the business units including recruitment, manpower planning, talent management, staff issues, performance management and organizational development
  • Review HR policies, and procedures and provide relevant HR advice to line managers
  • Provide advice and review on employer branding, staff retention strategies, and HR best practice
  • Support annual HR budgeting and allocation in accordance with the manpower strategy, bonus and salary review plans, and annual bonus and salary review budgeting and allocation
  • Identify process enhancement opportunities and provide suggestions on HR improvement plans
  • Prepare and compile manpower management report
  • Handle ad hoc projects as needed

Your skills and experience:

  • 6+ years relevant HR Business Partner/Advisory experience
  • Experience in recruitment, with several year experience of recruiting at all levels, ideally with some exposure to recruiting outside of Hong Kong
  • Highly organised, self-motivated and who enjoys working in a fast-paced international environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with proven ability to see projects through to the end
  • Ability to prioritise effectively, with proven ability to meet deadlines and take a flexible approach to a wide range of tasks
  • Calm under pressure, with a common sense approach and a willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of HK Labour Ordinance essential, wider APAC knowledge would be highly beneficial
  • Strong systems knowledge (Word and Excel is essential, previous use of databases such as SAP would be an advantage)
  • Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
