THE ROLE
The function of this role is to support the Fashion & Accessories department, cataloguing handbags, leather goods, and other related material. The Cataloguer will support all sales channels: auction, private sale, and buy-now. Further, they will help all sales efforts towards these sales channels whilst providing general assistance with ongoing projects and valuations within the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Cataloging
- Responsible for cataloging handbags and accessories for auction and Buy Now
- Complete primary research for handbag cataloging
- Assist Specialists with condition checking, authentication and pricing of handbags and accessories
- Maintain internal systems and databases (SAP, Viking, CAT, Client System, Google docs) for cataloging
- Proactively coordinate the receipt of property: gather deposits form, liaise with the admin and the registrar team to ensure the property is registered in the system and placed in the safe
Project Management & Data Analysis
- Maintain and update client bidder and buyer database
- Assist in research and analysis projects
- Work with marketing to provide assets required in development of editorial and social posts in a timely manner; collate and communicate feedback from clients and suppliers to the marketing team
- Provide ad-hoc support as required during the execution of sales and special events
Business Getting
- Support Handbag Specialists with sourcing and selling
- Support business getting with client submissions to the Consignment platform, follow up with client to arrange consignment and follow up regarding purchase inquires
- Assist with content creation for organic social media posts
- Research and write primary SEO content for handbags and accessories
- Partner with presale coordinator and post auction sales department
- Partner with shipping coordinators on inbound shipments; monitor property movements during the normal course of business and exhibitions
IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s Degree required, ideally in relevant area of study/interest
- Proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills: ability to read, interpret and present data in a structured way
- Strong computer skills
- A team player: ability to work well with others and independently
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexibility in working across various time zones with the occasional overtime requirement
- Flexible and receptive to change
- Knowledge of luxury handbag models from Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton
- Foreign language knowledge a bonus
